If you are too, let's talk.</p> <p>We are looking for a talented Senior Product Designer who can help shape Okta’s expansive product portfolio by bringing exceptional craft and fresh perspective to the world of identity and security.</p> <p><strong>Finer print</strong></p> <p>You will be designing the user experience for <strong>Okta Privileged Access</strong>, one of the fastest-moving products at Okta. We provide unified access and governance for privileged resources — servers, service accounts, and secrets, whether on-prem or cloud — without compromising user experience. That last part is your job. Our users are IT and security admins, infrastructure engineers, and developers who need access to production.</p> <p><strong>What you will do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Drive and execute an ambitious product design strategy for your team ensuring a meaningful impact on both user experience and business outcomes.</li> <li>Bring a systems-thinking lens to the conversation and connect the dots between user insights and business goals to create experiences that keep millions of customers safe every day.</li> <li>Drive impact by framing problems and exploring solutions in collaboration with user research, UX writing, product management, engineering, marketing, and data science to deliver best in class experiences. You will have the opportunity to lead through influence.</li> <li>Design end-to-end flows that involve multiple personas – IT Admin, Security admins, End-user – and consider complex use cases that span the Okta portfolio ensuring that every user of Okta can do their work efficiently while staying secure.</li> <li>Perfect the details to design scalable and usable design patterns that drive a lasting impact, ensuring they not only meet a high bar for design quality and efficiency but also enhance efficiency and consistency across the product.</li> <li>Regularly present work, concepts, and new ideas to cross-functional team members, adjacent teams, and senior leadership to drive alignment, showcase design impact and influence key product decisions.</li> <li>Advocate and encourage thoughtful use of AI for brainstorming and iterating on potential solutions, prototyping, and collaborating with team members</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we are looking for</strong></p> <ul> <li>You easily move between big picture thinking and being detail-oriented. </li> <li>You’re curious and have experience incorporating AI into your design process, including the ability to craft tools, iterate on ideas collaboratively with AI, and document sophisticated prompts for scaled use.</li> <li>Evaluate AI-generated outputs for technical accuracy, design system adherence, and ease of use to serve as a necessary quality bar before designs move to production</li> <li>You keep user goals at the heart of your solution and can also balance business objectives and engineering considerations.</li> <li>You thrive in ambiguous environments and know when to lead versus when to lean on your team members.</li> <li>You build and share empathy with people in order to deeply understand them and their needs.</li> <li>You are someone who sees design as a partner with PM and Engineering in shaping strategic and operational product and UX outcomes </li> <li>You are comfortable owning all stages of design for multiple teams within a given product area.</li> <li>You are passionate about upholding design UX principles </li> <li>You showcase storytelling skills to communicate your design ideas to a variety of stakeholders. </li> <li>Your portfolio will show that you've worked on complex and challenging technical projects across all aspects of the design process (generative and evaluative research, discovery, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, etc.)</li> <li>You share our <a href="https://www.okta.com/blog/2019/09/how-our-core-values-shape-our-identity/">values</a>, and work in accordance with those values</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree in a related field or relevant work experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer.</li> <li>Proficient in Figma or similar design tools.</li> <li>At least a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.</li> <li>A digital portfolio showing depth across a variety of projects, including work that shipped and was used in real products. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
