If you are too, let's talk.</p></div><p>We are looking for a strong <strong>Senior Software Engineer in Test (SET)</strong> to build scalable test automation, developer productivity tools, and test infrastructure. The role is <strong>UI automation heavy</strong>, with strong focus on <strong>Playwright/Cypress, TypeScript/JavaScript</strong>, API and performance testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted engineering.</p> <h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Design and maintain scalable <strong>UI automation frameworks</strong> using <strong>Playwright and/or Cypress with TypeScript/JavaScript</strong>.</li> <li>Build comprehensive <strong>UI, API, integration, and end-to-end automation</strong> for enterprise-scale applications.</li> <li>Develop API automation using <strong>REST Assured</strong> and REST APIs.</li> <li>Design and execute <strong>performance/load testing using JMeter</strong> and analyse performance bottlenecks.</li> <li>Build and integrate automated tests into <strong>CircleCI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions</strong> pipelines.</li> <li>Develop reusable testing libraries, utilities, and <strong>developer productivity tools</strong>.</li> <li>Leverage <strong>GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and other GenAI tools</strong> to accelerate automation development, debugging, test generation, refactoring, and improve test coverage.</li> <li>Identify, troubleshoot, and eliminate <strong>flaky tests</strong>, automation failures, and test infrastructure issues.</li> <li>Work with DevOps/SRE on <strong>Docker, Kubernetes, cloud environments, and test orchestration</strong>.</li> <li>Participate in <strong>on-call rotation</strong> and provide support for critical automation and <strong>production incidents</strong>.</li> <li>Perform RCA for production and automation issues and drive preventive actions.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with developers, architects, product managers, and distributed/North America engineering teams to drive quality ownership.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.</li> <li><strong>5–8 years</strong> of experience in SDET/Software Test Engineering or equivalent.</li> <li>Strong programming skills in <strong>TypeScript/JavaScript</strong>; Java/Python is a plus.</li> <li>Strong hands-on experience with <strong>Playwright and/or Cypress</strong>.</li> <li>Experience with <strong>REST Assured/API automation</strong>.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with <strong>JMeter or equivalent performance testing tools</strong>.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of <strong>CI/CD</strong>, particularly <strong>CircleCI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions</strong>.</li> <li>Experience with <strong>Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments</strong>.</li> <li>Strong debugging skills with logs, monitoring, and distributed systems.</li> <li>Experience with <strong>AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code</strong>.</li> <li>Strong ownership, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Willingness to participate in <strong>on-call and production support</strong>.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience building test frameworks or developer productivity tools at scale.</li> <li>Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.</li> <li>Experience with advanced JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.</li> <li>Knowledge of observability, tracing, and performance monitoring.</li> <li>Experience building or adopting <strong>AI-driven testing solutions</strong>.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Key Technologies</strong></h3> <p><strong>Playwright | Cypress | TypeScript | JavaScript | REST Assured | JMeter | CircleCI | Jenkins | GitHub Actions | Docker | Kubernetes | Git | GenAI | GitHub Copilot | Claude Code</strong></p> <p>#LI-Hybrid</p> <p>P17058_3565134</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>The Okta Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li><a href="http://rewards.okta.com">Supporting Your Well-Being</a> </li> <li><a href="https://www.okta.com/company/okta-for-good/">Driving Social Impact </a></li> <li><a href="https://www.okta.com/company/talent-connection-community/">Developing Talent and Fostering Connection + Community</a></li> </ul> <p>We are intentional about connection.
