Desktop Support Engineer

About the Role

Job Summary We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide on\-site technical support to bank employees and ensure the smooth functioning of desktops, laptops, printers, network connectivity, and other IT infrastructure across the branch/office. Key Responsibilities Provide L1/L2 desktop and end\-user technical support. Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain desktops, laptops and peripherals. Troubleshoot Windows OS, MS Office, email and other business applications. Diagnose and resolve hardware issues involving desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and other peripherals. Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi\-Fi, TCP/IP and network connectivity issues. Configure and troubleshoot printers, scanners and other banking peripherals. Handle user incidents and service requests within defined SLA timelines. Perform software installation, updates, patches and system configuration. Maintain IT asset records and update hardware/software inventory. Coordinate with network, server and application teams for escalated issues. Follow bank IT security policies, access\-control procedures and standard support processes. Prepare daily/weekly support reports and maintain proper incident documentation. Ensure minimal downtime and timely resolution of branch IT issues. Required Skills Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office and desktop troubleshooting. Good understanding of LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic networking. Hands\-on experience with printers, scanners and other peripherals. Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Basic understanding of IT asset management and ticketing systems. Good communication and customer\-handling skills. Ability to work independently at branch/onsite locations. **Key requirements** **Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience** **Microsoft Certified** **Strong skills in Desktop, Windows OS, AD/AV \& Printer** **Resource should support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and OEM coordination.** Educational Qualification Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. / BCA / equivalent qualification in IT, Computer Science, or Electronics.
