Visit us at . **Summary:** UST is looking for Backend/API developer **The Opportunity:** * We are seeking an experienced AWS \+ API Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud\-based solutions and RESTful/GraphQL APIs. * You will work on microservices architectures, optimize cloud infrastructure, and collaborate with cross\-functional teams to deliver high\-performance applications. **Key Responsibilities:** * Design and develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and performance Architect and deploy cloud solutions on AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.) * Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or SAM Optimize database performance and design schemas for relational and NoSQL databases * Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices (OAuth, JWT, IAM roles) Monitor, debug, and optimize API performance using CloudWatch, X\-Ray, and other AWS monitoring tools * Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams **Required Qualifications:** * 5\+ years of professional experience in backend/API development * Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar) * 4\+ years of hands\-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing REST/GraphQL APIs Solid understanding of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB) * Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS preferred) * Familiarity with Git and agile development practices Strong problem\-solving skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions) Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK) * Experience with message queues (SQS, SNS, Kafka) AWS certification (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or higher) * Experience with API testing, security, and rate limiting Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic) **Technical Skills Summary** * **Languages**: Java, Python, Node.js, Go, C\#, or similar * **AWS Services**: Lambda, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC * **Databases**: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis * **Tools \& Frameworks**: Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, CircleCI, Terraform, OpenAPI/Swagger * **API Patterns**: REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, event\-driven architectures **What we believe**: We’re proud to embrace the same values that have shaped UST since the beginning.
